I believe in setting goals for myself. Here are some of the items on my bucket list.
"If you haven’t heard about the bucket list, it is a wish list of all the goals you want to achieve, dreams you want to fulfill and life-experiences you desire to experience before you die. The term is inspired by the movie The Bucket List (2007) about two terminally ill men (Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman) who set off to achieve a list of things they want to do before they die." - description from here1. Visit Inuvik. I was born in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. My family and I moved to Kamloops, BC, when I was one, and I have never been back to Inuvik. I would love to go one day. It is 2 degrees above the arctic circle. I'm also going to add see the northern lights, and drive the Dempster Highway to this goal... although only if someone else drives and I'm just along for the ride.
2. Own a house. The cost of housing in Vancouver is ridiculous, so Him and I know that the likely hood of us buying a place in the city is quite slim. We aren't sure exactly where we plan to move yet (probably closer to his work, in the suburbs), but even out there it's too expensive for us to buy. One day, however, I hope we can buy our own home. I'd even be content with a fixer upper. I just have a few things that would make a regular house my dream house.
A front porch, with a swing.
A room for me to have a studio. Either a top floor or a place out back.
A pretty vintage style kitchen, with lots of storage.
4. Drive across Canada with Him. Included in this is to visit Montreal, and the Maritimes.
5. Have two children.
6. Write and illustrate a childrens book. It doesn't even have to get published.
7. Visit Europe with Him. I have been to Europe three times. First was with my mom and my sister for three weeks when I was 15, the second time was with an art history program in college where 40 students and I traveled around on a bus for two months, and the third time was when my mom and I went to London and Malta, and met up with my sister and her boyfriend in Greece. Him has never been outside of North America and I would love for the two of us to go back packing around Europe for a few weeks/months.
8. Visit Australia and the Great Barrier Reef.
9. Stay at a romantic resort on little huts over the water (like in Maldives).
10. Meet an elephant (not in a zoo).
11. Have a 24 hour movie marathon.
12. Throw an Oscar party.
13. Build and decorate a dollhouse.
14. Make a quilt.
15. Learn to crochet, and then crochet a granny square blanket.
16. Read A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton-Porter. This was my great-grandmother's favourite book.
17. Read A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute
18. Watch the Anne of Green Gables Collection again.
19. Read 52 books in one year.
20. Start driving again.
21. Read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.
22. Read The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.
23. Create my family tree.
24. Meet a penguin, or see penguins in the wild.
25. Visit South America.
26. Visit the Grand Canyon.
27. Visit Hawaii.
28. Learn another language. I speak a bit of french, but would love to either learn it really well or lean another language.
29. Try surfing.
30. Create a meal with food that I have grown in my own garden.
31. Be able to do 15 chin ups in a row. (Him just read this and told me 15 chin ups is a crazy amount for me to be able to do... I'm keeping it at 15 but would also be happy if I can just do more than Him)
32. Make vegan s'mores while camping.
33. Have a house with some land and rescue a few animals from slaughter houses. Maybe a pig and a few chickens.
That's all for now... I'm sure I could add another 100 items to this list! I'll be updating this list in the future and crossing off the things that I have accomplished. Hey Him, what's on your bucket list?
27. Truck driver.
24. Artist.
Love your bucket list! I actually haven't ever thought of making one of my own. Perhaps it's in order...

Wow! :) We have a lot in common, at least bucket-list-wise. Cool! I'm wishing houses were affordable here in Van, too - we've decided maybe a fixer-upper apartment here, but it just wouldn't be the same as a house with a porch! (sigh). And I'm learning how to crochet (& knit!) soon, so I can make a granny square blanket. It's tough, so far - but I don't have the hang of it yet! lol. Also, I wanna do #3, 4, and 6, too. And if you learn to surf - you must do so in Tofino, cuz it's so close and lovely! :) Good luck with your fun list!
